Queen Bee

Queen Bee is an uninflated crocheted balloon dress created by Casey Rosenberg for the balloon convention Twist and Shout 2024.  The project began as a concept in March of 2023, but started to take shape in November of 2023.  Through the extensive three month process of creating Queen Bee, Casey received a good deal of help from Jane Rosenberg, Melanie Rosenberg, Liam Bootzin, Broderick Truettner, and Isaac Narang.  Through out those three months there were several obstacles such as the friction of the balloons while crocheting, gluing the balloons into yarn, and figuring out how to make the bees.  Casey also delt with outside factors like school, running a business, and trying to maintain a social life.  In the end Casey won first place and people's choice in the dress category at Twist and Shout 2024.  You can see Queen Bee on display at the Richey Gallery at the Lakewood Cultural Center in Lakewood Colorado from Oct 15th 2024 to Jan 3rd 2025.
